Fundraising Tip: Do You Have Time to Read This Blog Post?
Taking time to be reminded, grow, and maybe learn something new.
I am always grateful when I check on the number of people who read my tips. It makes me want to bring as much value as I possibly can to each post.
Today’s value is in making time to learn and to grow. Everyone is so busy, especially in nonprofit fundraising, that’s it easy to work and work with no time for oneself.
Take time for yourself. And I don’t mean just the self-care area. I mean in allowing yourself time to learn something new. My first example is to read a blog post, like this one. Check out a book on fundraising or the mission area of your nonprofit. Read an article from the Nonprofit Quarterly or some other publication specific to those of us in nonprofits.
I have been reading more these days, and typically am reading one book that supports my learning in fundraising, recruiting, and relationship building and another outside of work.
I call myself one of those who are “always learning”. That starts with taking time to learn.
If you’re in nonprofit fundraising or recruiting, I hope this weekly post is helpful; and that it checks the box for your growth and learning.
