Fundraising Tip: 5 Actions for Nonprofit Fundraisers That Will Support Fundraising and Relationship Building

Simple ideas (or reminders) to use your time in support of your fundraising goals.

My week is filled with meetings with donors and creating communications for donors!

In planning the meetings, I realized that the themes will all include similar topics. These are topics that are on my go-to list when thinking about nonprofit donor relationship building and fundraising.

These items have become even more apparent to my impact as a fundraiser as I get deeper into my full-time role at Survivor Justice Center.

No matter who I am meeting with regarding fundraising, these actions are important to the nonprofit and the fundraising professional.

They make a difference regardless of mission, team size, or geographical location.

Thank donors.

Invest in monthly giving.

Treat donors like people.

Tell stories.

Share impact.

I incorporate these every day, both in the fundraising work I do and in the client work I do. They always are impactful.

Whether these are ideas new to you or are reminders, incorporating them into your daily work will benefit you and your organization on many levels.
