Fundraising Tip: Make This Week Count

Quick nonprofit fundraising actions for those new to our world and those who have been fundraising for years.

It’s the start of another week, a week filled with opportunities for those of us in nonprofit fundraising to grow our relationships with donors and increase our fundraising efforts.

Whether you are the newest person on your fundraising team or someone like me who has been fundraising for a while, these tips can be helpful as new ideas or gentle reminders.

Let’s get right to it so you can start your week!

Let’s start with your email. Don’t check your email constantly. Check it and respond maybe three times a day. You will love the extra time this gives you.

Call a donor. As soon as you read this, you probably already know which donor you want to call.

Spend a few minutes with your program teams, the ones doing the work for your mission. Relationships with them help you tell stories.

Start working on an e-appeal. No, you’re not sending too many.

Send a personal note to a donor or board member.

Go into your CRM and see who donated last year at this time but has not donated since. Create a plan to engage with them.

This is a good start!

Take a risk. Be of service. Support your friends and colleagues. Be kind.
