Fundraising Tip – Take a summer vacation

Summer vacations can be the best.

I don’t necessarily mean a two-week trip to Europe or Vietnam. That can definitely be the case if that is what vacation looks like for you. Vacation can be just time off from work.

For us that means beach time, camping, and a road trip or two.

For me, it means disconnecting from work.

Summer is the perfect time for those in nonprofit fundraising to take a vacation. My experience shows that giving is not strong in the summer, especially in July.

People are on vacation.

Join them. Practice self care. Take a vacation.

I’d love to hear what you decide, or have already decided, to do for your vacation!

You can build relationships and fundraise to your heart’s content when you get back. All of that will still be there. For us as a community that serves others, we cannot always be on the go. We have to stop, breath, have fun, disconnect.

Take a vacation.

Have fun!

Take a risk. Be of service. Support your friends and colleagues. Be kind.
