On vacation – Self care
Practicing self-care is critical for nonprofit fundraisers
This week I get to spend time in San Diego and then road tripping to Colorado, with some great camping along the way.
I love talking about self care with my nonprofit clients.
It’s critical.
It’s also critical for nonprofit leadership to lead by example and practice self care, including taking vacation. By vacation I mean much more than a long weekend. One week, at the minimum.
And vacation to me means being totally disconnected from work.
I’m very much looking forward to the next couple of weeks, not only with wonderful vacation time, but being able to spend some time back home in Colorado.
More fundraising tips upon my return!

Disconnecting from work is quite difficult for those of us who work in an entrepreneurial capacity, where the thrill of the new idea and building on a vision brings so much joy. I think going camping, away from anywhere that phone reception reaches, would be the way to enforce that kind of self- discipline on me 😀
Have a wonderful trip, my friend!
